Trikon offers a complete range of portable hardness testers for quick and convenient on-site hardness testing. Our hardness testing equipment comprises portable instruments and a large number of probes or impact devices – opening up extensive application possibilities – for every testing situation. In addition, our hardness equipment offers a quick and economical supplement to stationary hardness testing in the modern production process.

DynaPOCKET

The DynaPOCKET is a small, integrated digital hardness tester which operates according to the dynamic rebound method (standardized according to ASTM A956). The compact design allows easy on-site hardness testing on solid, non-transportable components and even on positions difficult to access by other hardness testers.

Quick and reproducible measurements can be made independent of impact direction due to a patented signal processing.

Products Features:

  • Compact, cable free design: impact device and display in one-instrument
  • Easy on-site hardness testing on solid, non-transportable components and even on positions difficult to access
  • Operation based on the Rebound (Leeb) Principle with special signal processing technique. The instrument senses the test direction and automatically compensates for gravitational effects.
  • Easily and clearly arranged operation via two keys
  • Hardness measurement independent of impact direction
  • Direct readout of the digitally displayed hardness value on a large LCD display
  • Display of the single or average value
  • Standard conversion tables stored for nine material groups
  • Conversion of the hardness value for hardness scales HL, HV, HB, HS HRB, HRC and N/mm2
  • Measurement ranges (material dependent) 150 to 1000 HL, 75 to 1000 HV, 75 to 700 HB, 30 to 100 HS, 35 to 100 HRB, 20 to 70 HRC, 250 to 2200 N/mm2
  • Measurement accuracy (standard deviation) ± 4 HL or 0,5 % at 800 HL (average value of 5 measurements related to the average value of the hardness reference block)
  • Operates on standard batteries (2 x AAA)

Applications:

  • On-site hardness testing:
  • Heavy, non-transportable components
  • Difficult to access positions
  • Series parts during production
  • For material identification

Materials:

  • Solid, coarse grained test objects
  • Forged parts with inhomogeneous surface structure
  • Cast materials
DynaMIC

The DynaMIC operates according to the rebound hardness testing method (standardized according to ASTM A956) using a special signal processing technique that automatically compensates for changes in testing direction. Position the impact devices and read the hardness value – that is hardness testing in a matter of seconds. Different impact devices are available to ensure an optimum match to material and application. The DynaMIC DL Data Logger model can internally store hardness values along with statistical information.

Products Features:

  • Measurement of hardness independent of impact direction (without input of any correction values) due to patented signal processing
  • Standardized according to ASTM A956
  • Automatic conversion of hardness to HV, HB, HRC, HRB, HS, HL and N/mm2
  • Different impact devices dependant on application:

Dyna D for standard applications
Dyna G for heavy, solid parts
Dyna E for hardness range beyond 650HV

  • Data Logger version with internal data memory for measurement data and instrument settings

Applications

  • Solid, coarse-grained components
  • Machine parts made of steel and cast aluminum alloys
  • Large series parts during production
  • Heavy forgings
MIC 10

The MIC 10 enables quick and convenient on-site hardness testing according to the UCI method (Ultrasonic Contact Impedance standardized according to ASTM A 1038). The diamond indent in the material’s surface is electronically measured and instantly displayed without using the cumbersome optical evaluation normally associated with conventional hardness testers.

Products Features:

  • On-site hardness testing according to the Ultrasonic-Contact-Impedance (UCI) method
  • Standardized according to ASTM A 1038
  • Probes with test loads from 1N (HV0.1) to 98N (HV10)
  • Automatic conversion into different hardness scales and tensile strength
  • Display of single value or average from a test series
  • Data Logger version with internal data memory for measurement data and instrument settings

Applications:
The small, handy MIC 10 can be used virtually anywhere – on scaffolds for testing large containers and pipes, or for testing components at any location. The UCI principle is especially suited for fine-grained materials with various shapes and sizes, as well as on heat treated surfaces. The small narrow probes even allow measurements on positions difficult to access, such as tooth flanks or roots of gears. Guiding devices and stands allow for precise weld testing (HAZ).

MIC 20

The MIC 20 is a versatile two-in-one tester combining the UCI (Ultrasonic Contact Impedance) and rebound test methods. The UCI method tests small and complex shaped parts comprised of fine-grained metals, while the rebound method is preferred for larger, coarse-grained forgings and castings.

Products Features:

  • Combined hardness tester for quasi-static hardness testing according to the UCI method (ASTM A1038) and dynamic hardness testing according to the rebound method (ASTM A956)
  • UCI probes for hardness testing of fine-grained materials having different masses and shapes or heat-treated surfaces.
  • Rebound impact devices for hardness testing on large, coarse-grained components, forgings, and cast materials
  • Automatic scale conversion to HV, HB, HRC, HRB, HS, HL and N/mm2
  • Operation by keys and/or integrated touch screen, easy input of alphanumerical data
  • Power supply: mains adapter (100 V – 240 V) or NiMH battery pack MIC 20-BAT (internal charging)
  • Internal data memory for approx. 5,000 measurement series
  • Quick and easy calibration to various test materials. Calibration data are saved and can be recalled
  • Non-directional measurement without input of any correction factors
  • Large color TFT display shows all necessary information during measurement, such as average, single value, or statistical data at a glance
  • Clearly arranged data memory to save measurement results in an easy and structured way. Measurement series can be recalled and edited.

  • UCI testing:

– Ready-assembled machines
– Heat-affected zone of a weld (e.g. pipeline)
– Heat-treated surfaces (e.g. tooth flanks)
